REGISTER NOW for the Ninth Annual New Mexico Tax Research Institute Legislative Outlook Conference: December 19 at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town.  Members of NMTRI and government/academics/nonprofits may attend and have lunch for $70.00 per person.  Not-yet-members attendees may attend and have lunch for $75.00.  reservations and payment should be received no later than December 19, 2018.  The program will begin promptly at 8:15 a.m. (registration begins at 8:00).  Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits are available (currently 4 hours but the agenda is subject to change).

The program includes a revenue/budget overview perspectives of influential legislators, and comments from interested groups on the current topics involving state government finance, tax and economic development. Take the opportunity to hear from elected officials who drive New Mexico tax policy: Senate Majority Leader Peter Wirth, Senate Finance Committee Chair John Arthur Smith, Ranking SFC member Steve Neville, Speaker of the House Brian Egolf, House Appropriations and Finance Committee Chair and Patty Lundstrom, Representative Jason Harper, Minority Leader Jim Townsend, and more.   The program will begin with a forecast and economic overview by Legislative Finance Committee Director David Abbey, and BBER Director Jeff.  There will also be an update on state taxes by Multistate Tax Commission General Counsel Helen Hecht, and perspectives of “interested stakeholders”  - those panel members will include the Association of Commerce and Industry; Voices For Children, the Municipal League, the Association of Counties and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.
